History:
John Sloss represents clients in all aspects of motion picture financing, production and distribution, including motion picture producers, directors, writers, actors and broadcast networks.
Mr. Sloss also consults for several high-profile film financiers and producers, and is a founding partner in Independent Digital Entertainment (InDigEnt), a series of digital features made in collaboration with established filmmakers and actors, which is quickly becoming the gold standard in digital filmmaking. Mr. Sloss also served as a partner with Dreamworks, Imagine Entertainment and Paul Allen s Vulcan Ventures in Pop.com.
Paul Brennan joined Sloss Eckhouse Brennan LawCo in 1995 and became a Partner of the Firm in January 2001. Mr. Brennan represents an array of clients from all areas of the motion picture and television industries, including producers, directors and writers. Mr. Brennan s practice has a particular focus on film financing and distribution. Mr. Brennan is a graduate of Brown University (BA, 1990) and Columbia University (JD, 1995).
Jacqueline Eckhouse joined Sloss Eckhouse Brennan LawCo in April 2000 and became a Partner of the Firm in January 2002. Ms. Eckhouse s practice is focused on film and television contract negotiation. She represents actors, writers, directors, producers and production companies. Prior to joining Sloss Eckhouse Brennan LawCo, Ms. Eckhouse was an associate with Brown & Wood, where she practiced corporate securities law, and then with Frankfurt, Garbus, Klein & Selz, where she practiced entertainment law. She is a graduate of Brandeis University (BA, 1993, magna cum laude) and Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (JD, 1996).
Mr. Sloss was born in Detroit, Michigan, and is a graduate of the University of Michigan (BA, 1978, high distinction) and the University of Michigan School of Law (JD, 1981). Mr. Sloss lectures extensively on the subject of global entertainment finance, as well as a variety of other media and entertainment-related matters.
